Satellite SOP-479A continually monitors for geo-thermal activity in the Southern Hemosphere. The satellite has detected a new hot spot located high on a mountain range Lat-83degrees 10min 04sec by Long-25 degrees 42min 15sec. This was thought to be an extinct volcano and there has been no seismographic activity reported. Satellite Spy-Tel reports an energy source recognizable to the StarGate Program is also generating from the same location.

Permission was obtained from the British Government to enter this teritory. An SG team was dispatched to a base camp and waited for favorable weather conditions. Since the mountain is unacessible by foot, word comes in and an ariel scout team is dispatched for a closer inspection. A column of steam can clearly be seen rising from the mountain peak now.

As the Scout team nears the mountain it reports that it they see steam venting from the mountain in the area of the energy source. It appears to be the caldera of an old volcano.

Upon arrival the team reports that steam, as well as water, are coming out of an opening in what appears to be some sort of ancient architectural structure.

The helicopters land and a research team embarks. Upon closer insection, the structure appears to be Grecian in design but is covered with symbols of the "Ancients Ones". Pearing through an opening in the structure, they could see some sort of ice grotto inside the mountain.

The team enters the ice grotto and discovers the water is flowing out of a deep tropical pool teaming with life. At the bottom of this pool a dim light could be seen coming from what appeared to be a cave opening. The energy readings were emanating from somewhere inside that cave. Base was notified and a dive team was dispatched to the sight and entered the pool.

The divers had to swim against a strong warm current coming from the cave. Passing through the opening the divers were amazed to find a tropical under-water paradise. There were strange corals and sea life never before seen anywhere else. But what was even more astonishing was that there were ruins of ancient structures. These structures appeared to be laid out in a spoke design leading to the center where the energy source is eminating from.

Following what appeared to be a roadway, the divers reach the hub of this ancient city. The location of the energy source is just ahead inside some old ruins. The average depth of this giant underground lake is about 30 feet. When they surfaced one could see a giant pock marked ice blue dome that is inside a glacier. The water seems to be heated from deep hot water springs which feed the pool.

The biggest surprise of all though is the discovery of the energy source. Upon entering the center of the ruins the team lays eyes upon another "Doorway to Heaven". More amazing is that it was activated! Apparently the minerals in the water combined with location so close to what is now our South Pole, the energy readings did not suggest a Gate in operation. Still, there seems to be something different about this Gate. Not only are the locks a different color, it is operating under-water and there is no sign of a dailing device.
